Workshop Details and Pricing Information
JSMS Workshops are weekly, topic-focused sessions that run for 4, 6, or 8 weeks, giving students a chance to dive deeper into a specific skill, style, or creative project.
Every workshop ends with a showcase, such as a performance, recording, or completed project. Workshop topics and levels are tailored ahead of time so students can find the perfect fit for their interests and experience.
Pop + Rock Ensemble
Ages incoming 8th grade and up

Sing Explore Create

Ideal for students who are passionate, driven, and want to rock out with like-minded musicians. Students will rehearse weekly on Tuesday evenings for 2 hours and explore different rock genres, learn cover songs and unique arrangements, grow as artists, and so much more! The final session will conclude with an exciting performance for friends and family. Past experience in private lessons or a band is required, this workshop is ideal for intermediate – advanced students. Ages incoming 8th grade and up.

For students who want to take the deep dive on advanced ensemble playing. Explore and apply music theory to your playing, improvise and gel as an ensemble, learn different song forms and structures, and take your musicianship to new levels. This workshop is a combination of learning music theory and improvisation skills, and then applying those skills in a band to make music together. The final session will conclude with an exciting performance for friends and family. Past experience in private lessons or a band is required, this workshop is ideal for intermediate – advanced students. Ages incoming 8th grade and up.
Sound Recording Workshop

Learn all about what goes into recording, running live sound, basics of recording software, and more. Students will learn how to record both themselves as solo artists and ensembles, as well as take the deep dive into different recording techniques like microphone placement, acoustics, and much more. The final session will be 2 hours and will have students setting up microphones, running sound, and recording a live band! No recording experience necessary, ages incoming 8th grade and up.

*Ukuleles will be provided at class and can be purchased after final session*
Meet twice per week for the month of July and learn how to play ukulele! Students will learn how to play a variety of chords and melodies on the ukulele, grow as musicians, get a great foundation of music, and participate as part of an ensemble. Each student will receive a ukulele to use for the month at class, and will have the option to purchase the instrument after the class concludes. A short performance for family and friends will take place at the final session on Thursday, July 30th. No experience necessary, ideal for the beginner student up to the intermediate level. Ages 9 – 12
Updated Cancellation/Refund Policy:
Cancellations must be made by July 1st, 2026 and are subject to a 10% replacement fee. Cancellation requests made after July 1st are not guaranteed to be fulfilled and 50% of your original registration fee will be withheld (unless due to an emergency on a case by case basis). No refunds will be given for missed days that were not communicated ahead of time, tardy days, or early dismissals. No refunds will be given after the completion of the workshops.
