At Jesse Stiglich Music School, we strive to give the highest quality music lesson to every student and to always meet our students where they are at. A main part of our community engagement at JSMS is being involved with surrounding schools and engaging with students about the general aspects of music and movement.
When a Guest Musician from JSMS comes to your school, they will show students basic rhythms, play music as both individuals and agroup, introduce different types of instruments, involve movement and dance activities, and much more. Some specific activities include call and response, playing steady rhythmic patterns, music note identification, instrument demos, listening and freeze dances. Sessions are designed to peak the interest of students and get them to be creative, all while having fun and learning about general aspects of music and rhythm along the way.
Guest Musicians from Jesse Stiglich Music School typically come into schools monthly or weekly and do either a 20 minute, 30 minute or 45 minute session with different classes. The length of the sessions are discussed with the school’s teachers to see which would be a better fit for their classroom environment.
