POLICIES and PRICING
Student Absences
Weekly attendance at your private and/or group lesson is expected at JSMS.
Once registered, your lesson time has been reserved specifically for you. It is your standing weekly appointment, and must be paid for regardless of your presence.
Each student is allowed 1 Excused Absence where they will be owed a make-up lesson. If a student cancels, notice must be given to our office via email or phone by 6pm the evening prior to your lesson, in order to be eligible for a make-up lesson. The make-up lesson must be rescheduled and taken in addition to your regular lesson. It will not replace your standing weekly lesson time. JSMS will do our best to provide several opportunities for make-up lesson options, some of which may have to be with a different instructor if the student’s typical instructor is fully booked, and the makeup lesson must be completed within two months. If the makeup lesson is not completed within the two month period, the lesson is forfeited.
Once a makeup lesson is scheduled, it is treated the same as a regular weekly lesson under our attendance policy. If the scheduled makeup lesson is later canceled by the student/parent or missed, the lesson is forfeited.
Emergencies, injuries or long term illness that keep you from your lesson can be handled on a case-by-case basis.
If student attendance is consistently irregular or they are not showing up to lessons, JSMS reserves the right to take that student off the schedule after having a conversation with the student or their family.
Teacher Absences
We do our best to supply a substitute teacher if the instructor is out that day. If the lesson is cancelled, the student will be given as much notice as possible via phone and email, and will receive a credit. Please note, that if a substitute is provided and you decide to forego the lesson, you will still be charged for that lesson.
Adult Flex
Adult students must put a credit card on file. Lessons will be charged weekly. If you cannot attend your regularly scheduled lesson, you must give 24 hour notice to avoid being charged for the missed lesson. Adult students are given a maximum of 2 Excused Absences (24 hour notice) for the JSMS calendar year (September – August).
Holidays, Vacations, and Snow
Please see the Jesse Stiglich Music School calendar on our website for details on holidays and vacations. JSMS is closed on federal holidays and Hanover Public School vacations. In case of inclement weather, all classes will be canceled if the Hanover schools are closed. We will do our best to notify you in a timely manner with school closings. You can also check our Social Media accounts for cancellation notifications. We honor religious holiday observances and provide credit when given advanced notice.
Summer Flex
Our school schedule runs through the end of June. The Summer Flex Schedule (July and August) allows students to reschedule a lesson with a minimum of one week’s notice at no charge. The auto-pay program will continue as normal and will run at the beginning of each month. If you know you are gone for a certain week, we can try to double up the following week or adjust your auto-pay.

All students are required to enroll in our auto-billing program. This is a secure, convenient way to pay for lessons. Once you are enrolled, your credit card will be charged on the first day of each month. Students are billed monthly for the number of lessons they have that month, with a reminder email going out to students/families a few days before the start of each month indicating how much your card on file will be charged. If you need to update your credit card on file, please call our office at 781-204-1677 or email admin@jessestiglichmusicschool.com.
If you need to fully withdraw from lessons or take an extended break at any time, you will be refunded 50% of whatever is left on that month’s billing statement.
Students enrolled in an ensemble will be charged monthly just like private lessons.
Students enrolling in one of our group classes will be charged up front for the entirety of the session.
There is a Registration Fee of $30 for all new students. After students are enrolled in our system, there is a yearly Registration Fee of only $15 that runs when we re-enroll the student – usually in September, or if they have taken an extended break (90 days or more) and are coming back to lessons.
Jesse Stiglich Music School reserves the right to suspend or discontinue instruction for any student who has not made a payment by the second lesson of the month. It is the students’ and/or parents’ responsibility to ensure we have the correct credit card information on file. The student is welcome to be reinstated to lessons, but we cannot guarantee that their initial lesson spot will be available.
JSMS - When you arrive at your lesson
Jesse Stiglich Music School is located at 51 Mill St. U7B, second floor, Hanover, MA 02339.
When you arrive at the 51 Mill Office Park, take your first immediate right in the parking lot and JSMS is located in the first set of buildings. You can come on in and go up the staircase to JSMS. Parents are always welcome at the lesson, and especially at the first lesson to see the space. We also have seating in the main room for people to wait for their lesson. If you’re early for your lesson or waiting to be picked up, students can feel free to hang out with each other or bring school work to stay busy.
