POLICIES

Student Absences

Weekly attendance at your private and/or group lesson is expected at JSMS. We do understand that sometimes things can get in the way, so each student is given a maximum of 2 Excused Absences (24 hours notice required) per year. After the 2 Excused Absences are used up, you will be charged for any additional absences.

  • If you have to cancel a lesson and cannot give 24 hours notice, or if the student is a no call or no show, you will still be charged for that lesson.

  • If a student has to miss a group class or ensemble, you do not receive a makeup lesson or a credit.

Teacher Absences

  • If the instructor must cancel a lesson, the student will be given as much notice as possible and will be owed a makeup lesson or will receive a credit.

  • We also do our best to supply a substitute teacher if possible so that lessons can still happen.

  • If you have to cancel a lesson and cannot give 24 hours notice, or if the student is a no call or no show, you will still be charged for that lesson.

  • If a student has to miss a group class or ensemble, you do not receive a makeup lesson or a credit.

Adult Flex

  • Adult students must put a credit card on file. Lessons will be charged weekly. If you cannot attend your regularly scheduled lesson, you must give 24 hour notice to avoid being charged for the missed lesson.

Holidays, Vacations, and Snow

  • Please see the Jesse Stiglich Music School calendar on our website for details on holidays and vacations. JSMS is closed on federal holidays and Hanover Public School vacations. In case of inclement weather, all classes will be canceled if the Hanover schools are closed. We will do our best to notify you in a timely manner with school closings. You can also check our Social Media accounts for cancellation notifications. We honor religious holiday observances and provide credit when given advanced notice.

Summer Flex

  • Our school schedule runs through the end of June. The Summer Flex Schedule (July and August) allows students to reschedule a lesson with a minimum of one week’s notice at no charge. The auto-pay program will continue as normal and will run at the beginning of each month. If you know you are gone for a certain week, we can try to double up the following week or adjust your auto-pay.

JSMS Payment Policy

  • All students are required to enroll in our auto-billing program. This is a secure, convenient way to pay for lessons. Once you are enrolled, your credit card will be charged on the first day of each month. Monthly payment amounts will vary depending on the number of lessons each month.

  • Jesse Stiglich Music School reserves the right to suspend or discontinue instruction for any student who has not made a payment by the second lesson of the month. It is the students’ and/or parents’ responsibility to ensure we have the correct credit card information on file.

JSMS - When you arrive at your lesson

  • Jesse Stiglich Music School is located at 51 Mill St. U7B, second floor, Hanover, MA  02339.

  • When you arrive at the 51 Mill office park, take your first immediate right in the parking lot and JSMS is located in the first set of buildings. You can come on in and go up the staircase to JSMS. Parents are always welcome at the lesson, and especially at the first lesson to see the space. We also have seating in the main room for people to wait for their lesson. If you’re early for your lesson or waiting to be picked up, students can feel free to hang out with each other or bring school work to stay busy.
